These pages contain reports, maps and pictures of my longer (cycling) trips as well as shorter cycling excursions. For starters, I also recommend the chronological overview and some highlighted reports. If you are more interested in bicycles you might want to have a look at some pictures of bikes I built for myself or for friends. For alpine cyclists I made a "collection" of mountain passes mainly in the Alps and Pyrenees, which are drawn into a map together with the bike trips. A visual overview is given by a map with all bike tours for which there are reports on this site.

I wish you a lot of fun.

16 countries - 16 summits

16 countries and their highest summits - by fair means, cycling between the 16 ascents and no artificial oxygen. There are the Seven Summits and of course 14 Eight-thousander, but 16 is bigger than 14 and 7, so I call this the ultimate challenge, the last adventure... read more.

New Zealand 2015/16

In 2015/16 I spent 3.5 months biking in New Zealand and about a third of that vacation time walking on multi-day hikes. I cycled between Cape Reinga in the north and Stewart Island in the deepest south about 10000km.. read more.

Iran by Bicycle

I traveled by plane to Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport, 50km south of Tehrans city centre. I boarded a 5 hour Lufthansa direct flight from Munich to IKA and my bike was loaded on the same plane without any modifications, no wrapping, no need to lower the air pressure, even the pedals and handlebars were accepted "road ready". read more.

Alpen 2015 - I, CH, F, A
